About this blog

Hello and welcome to my mini site.

I have created this site to detail how I have become obscenely rich. I am doing this for historical record and to help others to follow what I have done so that they can also become obscenely rich.

I am not rich now. In fact I am not even close. I am writing this to document the process as it goes along, rather than at the end, so that other would-be entrepreneurs can follow along if they choose, and also to record more accurately the learning process, highs and lows of my endeavours and so that nothing is forgotten along the way. I also hope it will serve as a way to distil my thoughts and help self guide myself in pursuit of my goal.

Obscenely rich will mean different things to different people. For some the word obscene implies there is something wrong or hideous, but that is not what is implied in this case. What I mean by obscenely rich, is having so much material wealth that money is no longer part of the question of what I want to do with my time here on earth. I also find some humour in the name as I visualise myself with piles of cash. :)

The question stops being ‘what can I afford to do today’, to ‘what do I want to do today’.

For different people to achieve this goal would take different amounts of money. It all depends on two things..

1. What makes you happy and

2. How big is your imagination

For me I have a pretty big imagination. What makes me happy deserves an entire blog of its own. I have attended workshops on ‘what is happiness’ and done a lot of soul searching into that question. One of the things that keeps arising, is that a lot of my time is always spent in the pursuit of material wealth, mostly to survive. Things like paying bills, rent etc.

This has mostly been to the detriment of my happiness. So the first step and all subsequent steps towards my goal MUST make me happy.

AT NO TIME IN MY PURSUIT OF MATERIAL WEALTH WILL I DO THINGS THAT MAKE ME FEEL UNHAPPY

Therefore, if the goal contains only steps that make me happy, the goal becomes not an end point, but a way of life. The goal is the journey.

There are a lot of things that can be improved in our society. One of the reasons I want to become so rich, is to be able to fund large projects to improve our lives and the earth as a whole. So many times I have thought in my life, if I had a million pounds, I would sort this or that problem out. Well, soon I will be able to.

Oh one more thing, you may wonder why I started with ‘how I became rich’ when I am not yet rich. It is because I have absolutely no doubt, no doubt whatsoever that I will achieve this aim and this blog will in fact be a chronicle of how this came about.

I hope you enjoy my blog.

To read the entire blog. click on the ‘The Journey’ link in the right hand Categories panel. Remember, it’s a blog so the first article is at the bottom of the page. Latest articles appear at the top. To read in chronological order you would need to use the ‘older posts’ link at the bottom of the page, or use the monthly links in the Archive section.

I also have a sister blog where I write about more technical aspects of trading and technology – you can find this blog at http://codingpowers.wordpress.com/.

The Sunday Times has a new campaign to improve school food and I love it! Some school dinners are amazing. It would be great if all dinners were amazing. The campaign wants to make sure all school meals are healthy and tasty so more of us want to eat them. The best thing is the campaign is starting with a competition so anyone between 7 and 18 can send in th […]

On Monday I travelled with my dad to Edinburgh to speak at an event organised by the Scotland Malawi Partnership. Because Presidents are so busy when they visit other countries we weren't sure if Dr Joyce Banda would be able to come to the event. She did and she was wonderful.M- I started my blog NeverSeconds as a writing project to show people what my […]
